What is a Rain Cap?
A rain cap is a protective covering or housing for the top of an
exhaust pipe that is intended to prevent the entry of rain, snow,
animals, birds as well as downdrafts back into the pipe.
What types of pipes do Raincaps go with?
- Aluminized Steel Exhaust pipes – Straight Cut Top
- Chrome Straight Exhaust pipes – Straight Cut Top
How to Install a Rain Cap?
Place the rain cap on the top of the Exhaust Pipe. The Rain cap
should fit snug over the top of the exhaust pipe. Tighten the bolt
snug. Make sure that the rain cap can move freely up and down to
allow the exhaust gas to escape.

Exhaust rain cap prevent precipitation or foreign objects from entering the exhaust
system. They are suitable for trucks, farm and off-road vehicles,
and equipment with vertical exhaust stack systems. An exposed
vertical exhaust stack can reduce engine performance. Weather caps
are preventive maintenance at a minimal expense. They save
equipment from costly repairs and minimize down time.
